Andreu van Hooft ( ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, 1962), MA Spanish Philology, University ofBarcelona / Estudi General de Lleida (Spain, 1986); PhD. Spanish Philology, University of Lleida (Spain, 1995).Since 1990, he is an assistant professorat the Department of Communication and Information Sciences (CIS) at Radboud University Nijmegen (RUN), the Netherlands.

He coordinates the Spanish Section of the Department of Communication and Information Studies. As a researcher, he is affiliated with the Centre for Language Studies at the same University and specifically with the programme ‘Language in society: Non Nativeness in communication’ (http://cls.ruhosting.nl/non-nativeness/). He has published articles in Spanish, Catalan, Dutch and English on Spanish for Special Purposes, English as lingua franca, visual metaphors and corporate logos, on the relation between personality traits and foreign languages and culture in intercultural business communication context; as well as, articles on Spanish and Catalan literature and the relations between the Spanish, Catalan, Basque and Galician literatures.
